The Wind tree assembly is put together from white PVC water pipe material.
The wind sensors mount on the 3/4″ pipe ends either with a provided adapter of directly and need to be sealed with a wrap of electrical tape to prevent any moisture to get past the joint.
The bottom of the tree opens up to a 1″ PVC pipe diameter and holds the round CAT5 signal distribution board with inputs for solar,rain, wind-speed and wind-direction.
The cable is fed down through the hollow mounting pipe. For mast lengths of more than about 3 feet metal pipe or a 2″ PVC pipe (tube) needs to be used.
